Description

The Sandbar and Cwlbox is a popular choice for locals and tourists because it offers a relaxed and casual dining experience that uses the best local ingredients and serves various beers, ciders and spirits sourced from independent producers.

The Sandbar was set up in 2016 by Rob Faulkner and James Beaven in addition to their acclaimed business Tenby Brewing Co. They welcomed Cŵlbox to take over the kitchen in June 2020 as they felt their menu would best complement their drinks offering. Sandbar and Cŵlbox offer excellent independent beverages and a fantastic, fresh and, wherever possible local and free-range brunch and dinner menu.

They love to introduce a new World of street food to the menu each week. Popular so far have been the Cubano (Cuba), Panelle (Sicily), Mumbai Sandwich (India), Polpette (Italy) and the Banh Mi (Vietnam)! Regular dishes on the menu include Crab and Chorizo Mac, Seabass with Dahl, Basmati and Leek Bajhi, Ginger Prawn Udon Noodles and a Seafood Platter along with brunch favourites Scallop Bubble and Squeak, FR Pork Hash and Sourdough French Toast. Sandbar and Cŵlbox also cater for vegan and vegetarians, and there are always several options available.

What our wonderful customers think of the Sandbar and Cwlbox:

  • A great chilled out, quirky and tasty restaurant with a great atmosphere, in a popular part of Tenby. The food came quick and was excellent. We ordered locally sourced gin and beer, which was a highlight, the hammerhead IPA is worth a try. Food-wise I had the ribs which fell off the bone and the dirty fries were probably the best fries I’ve ever had. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. I’d definitely recommend this to anyone and will be returning soon. - Paul
  • It was really great! Small menu of brunch type foods, and really nice side plates. Great portion sizes, good value for money, and absolutely delicious! The staff were lovely and there was a really nice vibe and it was very clean. - Katya
  • Wow. Had to wait a while to get a table but the staff were great while waited. Tenby brewing mango IPA helped ease the pain. Such a good beer. Group of 8 (4 adults and 4 kids) all came away very happy. The place is really nicely done out, the food looks amazing and is backed up by the tast. Great selection of drinks and everything at a fair price. Staff were fantastic as we're the other patrons waiting in the queue. Made for a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. - John
